Walt Disney Imagineering
Internship, Spring-Fall 2024
Starting my professional career at Walt Disney Imagineering was quite literally a dream come true. Having grown up in Southern California, I've always been a lover of the Disney parks and Disney games such as Toontown Online and Club Penguin. When given the opportunity to join the incredibly talented people at WDI as a Conversation Designer for Disney Research & Development, I thought it was a hoax until the actual interview.
After receiving multiple extensions for my originally 3-month internship, I had the amazing opportunity to design character-guest conversations with R&D, write narrative content for the Disney parks, and create a one-of-a-kind interactive experience with a team of Disney Live Entertainment interns.
Most of my work cannot be disclosed publicly, but I can proudly say that I worked on narrative content to be displayed in the queue of the new Avengers: Infinity Defense attraction coming to Disney California Adventure, wrote facts for in-park "Cast Members" to share with guests, and revised the Show Information Guide for Tomorrowland in California's Disneyland (a detailed document describing every attraction, restaurant, and physical feature of the land).
Perhaps the most rewarding aspect of my internship was the people I befriended along the way. Not only did my fellow interns and coworkers inspire me to be a better creative, but they also inspired me to be a better person. I've definitely come out of the experience with lifelong connections, friends, and memories.
